Why 150 folk songs?

Every Kodaly certified teacher has to make their own binder of, you guessed it, 150 folk songs, for use in their teaching. This blog will document that process.

So that’s it? Just a blog of folk tunes?

While my goal is to share all the cool songs, games and dances I find, and to talk about my process of putting the whole thing together, I’ve got a few other tricks up my sleeve. I will be posting all the clever lesson ideas I come up with (or steal from other teachers), including performance ideas, improvisation and composition activities, listening lessons, etc.  I’m also extending an invitation to other music educators to write guest posts about anything related to teaching music.

Hey, I’m a music teacher, and I’ve got a few cool songs I’d like to share. How do I do that?
